Per-Tec was formed by Peter Kukla, in 1998, specialising in the development of practical solutions for diesel particulate emissions reduction technology.
The company was originally based at Manchester University where it developed its revolutionary new system – PowerTrap.
Primarily aimed at small and medium sized commercial vehicle diesel engines, much of its development was carried out in conjunction with Cheshire Fire Brigade – to produce a low emission product suitable for fire engines. Fire Brigades obviously cannot afford engine failure either en route to an emergency or once on site (water pumps are also powered by the engine) so a system which cannot block is imperative.
In 2003, PowerTrap was accredited by the UK Government’s Energy Savings Trust as part of their Clean-Up Register. Through that scheme Per-Tec supplied and fitted numerous units which continue to work well on truck, bus and van fleets across the UK.
